Any one know anything about these guns? Are they standard size or mag length? What would the going rate for one in good condition be?

Thanks,
Rich

I've got one in .270 that has been my go to gun for over 30 years. Belgian Mauser action and I've seen them in .243 and 7mm Mag. It's a solid gun that was sold in JC Pennys for about eighty bucks in the 1970's. Mine came with a Redfield base, rings, and a store brand scope and has been exraordinarily accurate over the years. As to the going rate, I have seen them on GB for around $450. Good luck!

I've got the same rifle, but only owned it since 2003 paid $300 for it. It came with a cheap Bushnell 4-12X42AO on it but the thing is just so accurate and fun to shoot. It has been my go to rifle since I got it. Great rifles and I thing $450 would be about right for the top end.

They are just a standard 06 length commerical 98 Mauser action. I don't think you could build a H&H on one without great expense. However if you get one with a magnum bolt face you could build a .375 Ruger.

I have had 2-3 in the shop over the last 35 years. All were commercial Mausers by Santa Barbara and very well made and good shooters. My son in law stil has one I rebarreled into 25-06 and its a keeper!
