I oedered some of these bullets from the Nosler pro shop 2nd's list. Do they have any advantage over the standard partion?

Well, the Partition Gold bullet is slightly heavier constructed than the standard Partition.

It has a thicker partition that is positioned a little different. It also has the steel cup in the rear just like Winchester designed for the Fail Safe bullet.

My buddy used a 150 grain factory load in a 270 Winchester that was loaded with the Partition Gold last year while elk hunting. He shot a large cow elk in Oregon and the bullet went clear through and killed another cow elk standing a ways behind it. Luckily they had a second tag and no meat was wasted. That bullet really penetrates!!

I have heard that the Part.Gold has much higher weight retention than the equivalent std.partitions.

You can also get Partition Golds without the Lubalox/moly coating. I'm going that route next year when I get my moose draw. clap

My plan for these bullets is to hopefully bring down a local Hogzilla. His weight estimates vary from 400 to 650 pounds. I have seen him but was carrying a 223 and he gave me no chance for an ear hole shot.

I used that exact bullet on a kudu/hartebeast cull hunt and was very favorably impressed with the results. Granted, it was mostly head and neck shots but a bull kudu neck is muscular and thick. I got lots of complete pass-throughs after taking out the spine. The PG seems to me to be much tougher than the regular partitions.
