KurtC Nice rifle of yours! And with one of those lovely swing peep sights... From Lyman? Fritz I am not sure that you can combine a swing peep sight with a scope mount. It would be great if someone could confirm if it works, I want one too! Have you solved the feed problems of your M1950 you mensioned earlier? What was the problem? Martin | ||

The peep sights have been made by Lyman years ago and recently by Jim Wisner. If your scope mount is located on the rear bridge, it would have to be as far forward as possible. The peep needs room to pivot forward as the bolt is closed. The stock was shaped and fitted by Henry Pohl to original specs. I did the finish and Henry did the checkering. Metal work was done by Griffin & Howe. The bolt handle was originaly the ugly curved and swept style. I have had several mannlicher stocks full length bedded and they all held their accuracy. By having 100% contact with the barrel, any warpage or swelling would have to be away from the metal. The bedding compound keeps pressure even and also seals the inside of the stock better than any oil could. | |||

Finally took some pics of this one. It is a model 1952 with 23.5" barrel, single trigger with milled guard, and a swing-away peep sight. It has been stocked in a full length piece of English walnut in the traditional pattern. It is fully bedded from tang to muzzle, to ensure accuracy and protect the wood from gun oil. Unloaded weight is about 7.5 lbs.       | |||

A really nice rifle - and a fine peep-sight. Where did you get that sight? I�d like one for my own 1950 NO 8x60S Magn instead of the boring scope in a awkward swing-mount. Best regards, Fritz | |||
