I tried out my 03A3 30,6 remington today.
It has potential to be sure ! Using the redfield peep sites and the factory military trigger, shooting 165 grain hornady bts I put 5 into 1.45 inches at 50 yards. I must admit my 46 year lod eyes are the week point here. My plan now is to put a timney trigger in it, a buller or MK 2 saftey , mabye a speed spring, and have my smith drill and tap for a leupold scope base. I bet I will shoot close to moa with it then. I am prety sure it has the factory barrel, turned down and polished nicely.
At that point I will decide witch 06 shoots better, the Remington 03 A3 or my model 70 classic. The winner will stay 06 and the other will become my Roberts improved ! ...tj3006

I had a friend who had a sporterized springfield. It shot real well (original barrel)...about 1 1/2" and less at times and the trigger which had been worked on a bit was one of the best I've ever shot.
