.270 Redding I think. I looked it up and it is kind of an "Improved" .308 case.

Ackleys Volume one lists data for both the 270 Savage (or Titus) and a .270/.308., So yes it has been done. With the 7-08 and the 260 on the market though there wont much demand for one so finding a remaer may be a challenge. AK-47 The only Communist Idea that Liberals don't like.

In RSA Mugnum Rifles build the 270 Sabi, they also make ammo, so it is no wildcat anymore. Mugnum Rifles is in Nelspruit in RSA, they also do the 338 Sabi, 338- 06.

Sabi says it simply isn't a 308 necked down to 270. THE 270 SABI There has always been a demand for a caliber suitable for ladies and young hunters hunting at short range. The 270 SABI is the perfect answer and with a 150gr bullet at 2350ft/sec the recoil is less than 10ft/lb. The excellent ratio between the case capacity and the exit port of the bullet enables the rifle to shoot a 100gr bullet at 3200ft/sec also making it an outstanding varmint caliber. The 270 SABI is normally a very light rifle with barrel length from 450mm. Again it is accepted that the 270 SABI is a 308 case necked down, but the case is much smaller and of different dimensions. Don't know if QL has the right dimensions but they list the Sabi as being.006" longer to the shoulder. However the MAJOR difference is they list the Sabi as .434" at the shoulder the 308 is .454" As usual just my $.02 Paul K

A gunsmith friend of mine, the late Cecil Weems of Mineral Wells, Texas rebarrelled a first generation Browning BLR for this round in the early to mid 1970s. The results were written up in an article in Rifle or Handloader Magazine a few years later.
