Hello lal,

Mine is a Standard 7x57. And these are not super high velocities. In the last Nosler Reloading Manual, the top velocity for the 175 grs N Partition in the 7mm Mauser is almost 2600 f/s with a 22" barrel.
The barrel in my Mauser is 60 cm (almost 24") and it has the long free bore standard in all European (or original) 7x57. So, a hunting load reaching 2650 f/s should not be over maximum. And it is not, indeed, in my rifle!

Sencerely,

PH

Thank you PatagonHunter. I can only dream of obtaining velocities mentioned with our local Somchem powders. Nice to know what the 'little 7' is capable of though.

Lal, I don´t know anything about Somchem powders.
Is there one really slow, like the 4831s, R22 or 7828?

Good luck!!

PH
