got my 9.3x63. Now, which factory load?
By visiting this site for over a year you have broken me - I just had to get a 9.3x62. Chose a Sako 75, blue/wood. Fitted a Schmidt&Bender 1.5-6x42 in EAW detachable mounts (so that I can use the iron sights if needed).
Now, which load to choose? In Latvia reloading is almost unheard of so components are impossible to get so am limitted to factory. Available factory loads:
Sako Barnes X 250gr
Sako Partition 286gr
Sako Hammerhead 286gr (60% of the price of the others!)
RWS H-Mantel 258gr

Use is driven boar, red deer, moose. Dreaming of Africa PG next year. What load do you recommend?

The Sako Hammerhead is excellent. I haven't used them in a 9.3x62, but have in 270win. Should be perfect for European hunting.

If going to Africa I might go for the partition.

How is the hunting in Latvia, I have heard good things about it?

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

Hunting in Latvia? Heaps of reds and boar, particularly if the local club dump lots of farmers excess sugarbeets in the forest!

I´ve used the Hammerhead in 8x60S and it worked well.

But is the RWS that much better? If you´ll mainly be hunting in Europe then a cheaper, but well made, bullet will do you well.

The title woke me up too -as I only know of two people, boha and husky, who have rifles in 9.3x63...

Quite an eyecatcher Wink

Oops, I must have been half asleep while I entered the title. Couldnt find how to edit the title later.
Now - that would another pointless wildcat to give to the world - the 9.3x63!

Warning! The 9,3x63 is not a wildcat it is old propriety cartridge from somewhere around 1910-20. Boha, Husky or Lawndart can give you more details.
