I use H4350 and 154 gr Hdy. I use the 280 Rem recipe in the manuals and work up. Get excellent accuracy and DRT performance. H4350 (AR2209) was tops in my 7X64 & I got around 2800 fps with 154 gr Hornadys. Very accurate. Rifle had claw mounts and I sold it. "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick." | |||

Here are some accurate loads I tried in my Sauer 202. If I may say, I'd go to a heavier and deeper penetrating bullet than a 154 for moose : H4350/52.5/175 Hornady SP / WLR primers (5 in .39 MOA) N160 /56.0/160 HPBT Sierra / CCI 250 primers (5 in .41 MOA). Check the RELOADING section in AR. Also look at 280 Remington loads since case capacities are more or less the same. One thing about 7x64. The chamber specs call for a LOOOOOOOONG throat. Both my Ruger 77 RS 7x64 and my Mannlicher-Schoenauer GK 7x64 have lots of freebore. It's so long I can not seat most bullets to just short of the lands. The Ruger shot very well with Remington 175 grainers and Norme 170 grainers. I have yet to find a handload which shoots as well. Having fun searching, though.
