I had an opportunity this week to shoot my CZ 9.3X62 over the chronograph. The Hodgdon website suggests as a max charge 59.5 grains of Varget with a 270 Speer semi-spitzer and shows a velocity of 2440 fps. The Hodgdon data is spot on! I used a Norma case, Remington 9 1/2 standard rifle primer, 270 Speer semi-spitzer and 60 grains of Varget and got a velocity of 2447 fps. As soon as I get a chance, I will load up some 286 grain Woodleighs and shoot them across the chrono as well. Standard caveat. 59.5 grains is the max charge of Varget shown on the Hodgdon website with a 270 grain Speer. Start lower, work up and use at your own risk! i have yet to chrony my lhandloads, except for the pravi 285gn factory ammo. they clocked 2430 out of my sako 75, highest was 2470, lowest was 2387. have yet to try varget in mine, which is adi 2208 in aus. have tried rl 15 58.5gr behind the 250gr woodleigh, which is mild and shoots well. have also loaded the same projectile, with adi 2206h, 57gr, no pressure signs, but did not grp as well as the rl 15. cheers cc

Here are the results from my VZ-24 custom 9.3x62mm. 258 grain RWS H-Mantle with 58.0 gr RL-15 = 2478 fps, average for three shots. I think I can heat this load up to 2500 fps +/-, as it does not show any significant pressure. RWS says this bullet should be moving at 2550 fps. I may soon be switching over to Nosler Accubonds because of no source for additional H-Mantles. LLS

The best powder I have found over the years for the 9.3x62 is without a doubt RL-15 and with a 26 inch tube it will approach the mighty .375 H&H for real close second place.. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com

Last chrono I ran was 6 rds at 75F: SD 2.5 MAD 1.9 Chrono 0 ES 4.4 AVE 2,417.5 3714 lb-ft Ain't gonna change this load for that rifle! I have some chrono results from this week too- CZ 550 American with 250 grain Accubond, Fed 215 primers, Graf brass(fireformed and neck sized with Lee collet die). Don't have the COL handy but the bullets are seated WAY out there. My load was 60.9 grains of RL15(largest of the Lee dippers in my set). Average speed was 2480 fps.

Chronographed in my 9.3x62 Brno 22F..58 grs. of RL-15 with a 286 Nosler, 210 Fed primer, Norma brass gave me a 10 shot average of 2520 FPS taking out the high and low rounds...Pressure was mild and I reloaded some of those cases 14 times.
