So I was at the local shop yesterday and saw a Model 700, LH in 270 Win with a fiberglass stock. Picked it up and went to cycle the bolt. It appears the bolt and safety have been modified to the Winchester/Ruger style three position safety. Then I pulled the bolt out and it is a CRF with extractor. It came with what looks to be a fiberglass stock and a spotter style barrel. Anyone know of anyone customizing the bolts like that? There were no gunsmith markings on the rifle. I have it on hold. After removing the old Zeiss 4x32 scope, they.d let it go for 650$ out the door. It's on hold right now as I look for some information on the bolt mod. Any help would be great!

It used to be common to fit the Remington 700 bolts with Sako claw extractors. Frank "I don't know what there is about buffalo that frightens me so.....He looks like he hates you personally. I've seen those. This is a full length. Just like the ones on my Winchester Model 70s.
