Just stopped by one of our local pawn shops and saw a Krag that had been "sporterized" with a semi-sporter stock, forend tip, crappy red ventilated recoil pad, and a receiver sight.

Felt good, handled well, and as always, action was slick as snot. But, the $699 price tag was a way bit much.

Any ideas what it is actually worth--and I know, depends on how bad a guy wants it.

Less than half that, in the condition you describe. Maybe $275-325 at most, IMHO.

I have a very rare calvary model... one of 5,000 made, and I paid $200.00 for mine...

I have seen tons of others for $150.00....in very good shape...to boot...
