Hi guys. Can any of you experienced 75 owners recommend me a choice of factory ammunition to put through the new toy? I have also been told I should shoot in the barrel, ie shoot one round then clean it, shoot two then clean it etc. Is this a good idea, or an old wives tale. Also could you recommend ammo for the .223 PSS Remington too please. Thanks in advance for your help guys

A Sako 75 has a great barrel, and shouldn't need to be "broke in" per say. At least mine didn't. Your mileage may vary. I hand load, and can't really recommend any factory ammo. Black Hill's ammo, Federal Match Grade ammo, are supposed to be good..sakofan..

It all depends what you want to do with it. Federal premium is quite good stuff as is Norma. If you can get Sako or Lapua it's even better. I have never been too impressed with Winchester. Cheers Ed

Welcome to a great caliber. In my Whitworth, 150gn Power Points shoot under 1.25". It's a great bullet for deer and pigs up to around 200lbs and under 200yds or so. If I were to shoot farther, I'd use the brand of 165gn plastic tips that shot best. One of the greatest things about the 308/30-06 is that most bullets have been designed for their muzzle velocities. If you don't reload, or are a little lazy as I am, Milsurp ammo is avaliable. It's cheap and accurate in my 308s. capt david ![]() ![]() ![]()

Best bullet weight will be about 165 grains. Nosler Partition is great for general duty hunting. JCN

kongy, if you break that barrel in it'll be more accurate and go longer between cleaning. Unless you use moly coated bullets such as I do. I coat and load my own for a Sako in .243 win. You may do just fine without a break in as the other guy said these barrel are pretty smooth to begin with and the break in is basically to smooth things out in the bore. Good luck with you new rifle.

I ahve a M75 in .308 and i shoot factory. only thing is I have only tried 1 brand of ammo in it. 150 grain hornady interbonds which are no longer produced as factory for the 308. I just got some 150gr SST's to try out. the interbonds have shot a couple .5-.7"3 shot groups@100 yards. i am not complaining
