First off let me say I do not believe any premium bullet is needed for deer size game out of any medium bore. That said I am finding so many like the 130 grain bullet in the 270WSM and it just so happens that Shooters Pro Shop had 130 grain Partitions on sale. So I have 100 on the way.

My thoughts are at the speeds I should be able to get with the 130 grain bullet that the Partition may be a good choice. What say those who have used Partitions on deer.

Also would you use the 130's on black bear?

Use a high shoulder shot on deer and 99% will drop where they stand. I have been using a 130gr Northfork (also a controlled expansion bullet) from a 270Win. That bullet isn't needed, but it sure works and so will those Nosler Partitions.

130 gr Partitions may not be need but they sure do work well if you hit the shoulder.
H4831sc and IMR4831 work well for me in both of my .270 Win's with 130 gr Partitions.
RL 19 works very well with 130 gr Partitions in my .270 Weatherby.

I use 140 grain partitions in a 6.5x55 and it creams them. I've shot quite a few big Michigan whitetails with it and all were pass throughs with lots of blood. Most ran about 25 yards and keeled over.

130 gr Partions have been doing every thing asked of them since Nosler invented them--I doubt they will quit now.

hard to beat the seconds from the SPS. I've got more than I'd ever need yet I still go in there to see what they've got this week.

I use 140gr Accubonds...both factory and reloads for a while now......no problems. Dropped elk, moose, deer at variuos distances in their tracks. Why take out the shoulder on a deer......double lung, maybe catch part of the heart.

Reloads give me 3260ft/sec.

130 PArtitions will do the trick.

My fastest .270 WSM shoots them at 3370 fps with RL-22 and Magpro and along with the old Nosler Solidbase 130 grainer is one of my best loads. Good shooting.
