Killsoft, Thanks, but.... I really like the classic too! I think I'll keep it! Bob257

Killsoft, I own both. I would definitely go with the Kimber. Besides the CRF, pillar/epoxy bedding, etc., it is much lighter and it has a real Kevlar stock, not an injection molded POS. As far as feeding problems, mine (7-08)will not feed Trophy Bonded Bearclaws at all. However, it will feed Hornady 139s and other bullets with a slender profile. Lou

In addition to fixing their QC problems, I'd really like Kimber to offer the 84M in 257 Roberts. Also 7x57 Mauser. And 358 Winchester...

Today's Kimber 84M report. The weather today was about as good as it's going to get this winter so I shot the Kimbers and some other rifles that I have been game hunting with. It was cloudy, 35F and no wind. The Kimber 84M 7mm-08 has gone into a funk since I switched scopes just prior to opening day. Todays results were the same as I got ever since I put the brand new Leu VX-2 2-7 on it. The first shot with Hornady's 139 gr SST was right on at 100yds hitting about 2" high the second shot was 1.61" away but still centered so I was pleased that it stayed sighted in. This is most important to me. A second two shot group after it cooled was 1.84". Previously the rifle was MOA with 150 gr Partitions and IMR 4350. The above 139 SST's were propelled by RL 15. So it goes. I will have to look it over much closer. The rifle is brand new to me. I take my time on stuff like this. The 260 Rem chambered Kimber has been a star since it's first shot. Today it was sighted right on with the 95 gr Vmax. The load might go hotter as there are no pressure signs at all. Over the Oehler 35P it averaged 3240 fps from the little 22" barrel. The first two shots were .40" apart. A composite six shot group fired two shots at at time from a cold barrel as rifles were switched back and forth. It measured .91". That's really good as all shooting was done "hand held" as these are hunting rifles. No bags were used front or back. I leaned my forward hand on my shooting bag and aimed as well as I can. Most shots went off inside of a 1" orange sticker at 100 yds. The rifle was sighted in for game hunting even though the rifle never has seen the field as of yet. The 120 Speer Hot Core was supposed to be 2" high at 100 yds and it hit 2.3" high. This load is now "out of season" so I just blasted off four more fast and they were in a .58" group but 1.17" away from that first shot. This load averaged 2900 fps from the 22" barrel with 45 grs of IMR 4350. Both of these little rifles are new to me. It's been hunting season and I have really not done anything to them except carry the 7-08 up and down the hills. This winter I may have the LOP cut on the 7-08 as with the heavy coat that I wear it's just a little too long for me at 13.66. I like them short for cold weather. Thinking about all those cannons I have and looking at the ballistics coming out of these handy rifles I see no reason to tote the heavy guns for hunting in New England.

Well, I just joined the club. Bought my Christmas present today: Kimber Montana in 308. It looks fantastic, great stock, machining looks excellent. Range results to follow over the holidays. Wish me luck
