The AE (police) which I own is their 'new' chasis... I believe this is called the 1.5, but I've not heard the term used much here in the states. The AE model uses a different chasis than the AW. Some claim the AE's new system is superior, and lighter. I'm going to order another AW here shortly, an AW in .300 Win Mag which uses the older chasis, and I'll let you know the results. The AW series has a folding stock (optional) and a quick change barrel capability. It's designed for Special Operations and Paratroopers. Check their weapons out at: www.accuracyinternational.com I've not fired the Sako, but I would love to. I've read a recent article comparing the AI to the Sako. The author is a long time Sako owner and shooter, so it was somewhat bias I think. Regardless, he gave the AI very high marks and declared the two were pretty much equally matched. You would NOT be sorry for buying an AI. In my mind, it's the best tactical rifle currently on the market. Tim

It's also interesting to note that the AI has been adopted by 40 some nations as their issued sniper rifle. That's impressive. Many people with more experience than myself who have fired the Accuracy International rifle for the first time have called it 'the worlds most shootable rifle'. I agree. But I would love to shoot (or own) a Sako TRG given the chance. Buy my next $5,000 is going towards another AI. Tim

quote:Thanks for your response. I thought that the chassis you have was called the 1.5, and the folding model, the 2.0. Not sure..sakofan..

Hi, NICE groups! Are you planning on taking the beast hunting? You could use it for stand hunting over beanfields to deadly effect....
