I'm almost certain they made a non FW compact model based on the .308 case in the new Haven days. | |||

Looking at the 2005 catalog: As mentioned, the Classic Compact is offered in 243 and 7-08. The Classic Sporter (blue and wood) not offered in any short action cartridges except the WSM's. | |||
