These two powders seem to be the ones that work for this caliber, and I always have a bunch of both. Just picked up a CZ 550 in 9.3x62 and wondered who has a few proven loads, probably will use the 286 Nosler and the North Fork. The rifle seems to be quite long throated, the magazine length stopped me before the bullets contacted rifling. As soon as my scope comes in I'll give it a try. By the way, I'm mounting a 1.5-6x Nikon Monarch gold scope with the no.4 reticle.

I might try H-414 in my 35 whelen, should work with 250gr bullets.

Hey jstevens, I have had really impressive results using RL15 in my long throated, .35 Whelen. With the 280 gr. Swift I am getting 2,547 fps. That's according to my Beta Master Chrony. The powder charge is quite big but I get no pressure signs as long at the temperature is below about 45 degrees. Good luck, Smoker

500 those woodleigh 320 grainers would penetrate forever, I also see woodleigh now make a 286 gr protected point bullet, I am using the speer 270 gr at the moment and it performs well on hoppers but it is soft I am getting big exit wounds.

I use the following in my 26" barrel M-54 Win. 9.3x62..all are max in my gun, so cut 10% and start there: Primers: Fed. 210 match Cases: Lapua/RWS/Norma 250 gr. Swift 250 gr. Nosler Balistic tips 67 grs. H-414 60 grs. RL-15 286 Nosler/Woodleigh 59 grs. RL-15 2577 FPS av. 5 rds. chrono. 65 grs. H414 300 Swift 64 grs. H414 58 grs. RL-15 2450 FPS av. 5 rds. chrono. 320 Woodleigh 56.5 grs. RL-15 This gun seems to have a fast barrel and with 26" tube it really performs with these absolute max loads... I have used the 320 gr. Woodleigh on Buffalo, elk, deer, antelope and lots of plainsgame. it is a great bullet if pushed out of that long barrel at max velocity...in a short barrel gun or with RSA powders it may be too much bullet, in which case I would opt for the 300 gr. swift.. The Nosler is the best all around bullet. but the Northfork is in the running, its just that I have not used it to hunt with as yet, but they have performed admirable in all the calibers that I have used them in...... I have been playing with the 230 gr. GS HP and shot one deer with it, very impressive to say the least with all the H414 I can get in it. It grinds a huge hole through them and doesn't bruise a lot of meat, but one deer tells us nothing.
