The Finnlight is a normal Sako, the A7 is more of an entry level Sako between the Tikka T3 and Sako 85. Can't confirm it as I don't know, but my guess would be there are some Tikka parts in the A7, and probably not as much attention to detail in the manufacturing

If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

Want to save some $$, go A7 or Tikka T3. A Sako m75 or m85 rifle in the Finnlight -sweeter rifle-metal clip for one over the poly...not that the poly aint good...I have two Tikka T3 LS rifles...similar poly clip...the A7 has metal feed lips.

Both will be good shooters.

It would be like comparing a GMC SLT CC 4x4 truck to a GMC Denali pickup...more luxurious features.

That A-7 Sako is ugly as mudd.
That might matter more to me than you. It is likly a very good rifle.
But a Finn light in .270 or 30,06 would be a great rifle and looks prety good too.
I don't like detachable mags on my hunting rifles. (thats why i picked a kimber) mine is excelent.

The A7 has a polymer magazine with metal feeding lips and a cheaper synthetic stock. Other than that, not much difference between the two.

I believe there was a recent recall on the A7's.

I handled The finnlight and would buy one if i had 1.5k on hand for another rifle. My opinion, The T3 is a great buy for the money, 1/2 that price where I'm located.

A7 is based on a 85 action with a bolt like a 75 with a plastic shroud vs all metal and not as much fine machineing detail as the 85 but does have the safe unload feature as the 75 and 85, A7 bolt is 2 piece design with cast handle Vs 85's one piece billet style, A7 uses weaver style ring bases vs patented Sako machined dovetail rings, A7 has poly mag with metal feed lips vs 85's all metal mag and incorporates the same total control magazine release latch (must push up on magazine to release latch), A7 short action(.308)has 22 7/16 non fluted barrel vs 85 with 20 1/4 fluted barrel, A7 magazine holds 3+1 vs 85 with 4+1, A7 has basically same stock used on Tikka with different palm swell grip design vs 85's much nicer stock and grip surface (IMO), A7 has plastic trigger guard vs 85's all metal guard, Sako A7 has single set trigger option (one catch, not offered for North American versions), In short the A7 is a lower budget nice rifle at 850.00 vs 1500.00 for the 85 with the same accuracy guarentee as the 85 which i might add the TIKKA does not offer which is 1" MOA or better. I own 5 Sako's 3 of which are Finnlights, one 85 and two 75's and I love em all but have a sweet spot for the 85. The thing is a tackdriver. That aside I disapprove of how Beretta is handleing the Sako line and their customer service.
