A friend bought a used Savage right. He wants to leave it at his brothers, so he'll have a backup if needed. We are reloaders, but as it will be 600 miles away, he'll just use factory ammo. He tested some Fed 160gn GK and they shot under an inch, which led him to buy the gun. The only thing is that they shot 2850fps rather than the advertised 2950fps. Is this unusual? In the past my 308, 30-06 and 7x57 factory loads have been closer than that. capt david "It's not how hard you hit 'em, it's where you hit 'em." NO. In fact, you can BANK on many of the "flatter shooting calibers" shooting factory ammo, and even some of the best reloads at slower velocities than advertised. Unless he plans on shooting beyond 4-500 yards regularly, a 100fps is nothing. Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns

7 Mags and Chronographs would never be matched on E-Harmony. They are not compatible on any of the 29 measures of compatibility. ______________________________ "Truth is the daughter of time." Francis Bacon
