Thought everyone would like to see a recovered Speer 220 grain .35 bullet recovered from a 265# black bear. The bear was hit in the shoulder joint, broke the bone and then traveled down through the lungs...bear went right down without so much as a step.

Gun was a Remington M673 .350 Remington Magnum with 60 grains of WW748 for 2660 fps.

My friend has killed 3 black bear with this load and none went anywhere but down after the shot. This is the only bullet that stayed in a bear. The skull is that of a 365# bear killed several years ago with a .308.

I didn't have a scale with me to weigh the recovered bullet..

For an inexpensive bullet made originally for the .35 Remington this one seems to hold up quite well. One nice thing about this bullet when used with the .350 Magnum is the flat tip...it makes getting the LOA of 2.800" without intruding into the powder space very easy...

I have killed one deer with this bullet and it the knocked a running deer flat...

Hey Bob, Thanks for the nice report and fine Bullet picture.

I've killed a good many more Deer with that same bullet and have yet to recover one, also in a 350RemMag. Your comment about the Flat Nose is a good point that a lot of people overlook as beneficial.

Congratulations on the Bear.

..the deer was mine but the bear was my friend's... If you look over on the Handgun Hunting Board you will see the bear he killed this year with his M673. It is under "Favorite .41 Magnum bullet".

This years bear was hit through the lungs and dropped in place. It did however not expire as fast as the others he has shot and was give one between the shoulders. Neither bullet stayed in the bear.
