I thought I might try those bullets in my 458, but went with the 350 TSX instead. Haven't shot anything but targets yet with them, but they are very accurate in my rifle. I wish I had some pictures of it to post. It's a Ruger stainless MKII with a 20" PacNor barrel, 20" twist rate.

I sent it to a gunsmith for installing NECG sights, and expect it back soon.

I suspect those SoCom 300 gr TSX would make great hog blasters, loaded down to about the SoCom or 45-70 velocity. Big Grin

I don't know what difference it will make with a 14" twist, and standard long throat, using those short bullets, but my rifle's slower twist and short throat has proven to work well with up to 405gr bullets. The Rem 405gr 45-70 bullets are lots of fun to shoot with SR4759.

Kabluewy,

Would you care to share the SR4759 load with those 405's? I've been playing with AA5744 but haven't hit on anything great with it as yet.

Thanks, George

Scroll way down to the bottom of the chart in one of these links. There is a 510gr load, and a lighter bullet load. I figured the load for the 510gr is max. The use of a cronograph would be handy.
