It's interesting that Norma has a new bullet coming out that looks similar to the bullets from Cutting Edge in performance but more streamlined. http://www.norma.cc/en/Product...lets/Norma-Kalahari/

EXCELLENT video. I could not believe my eyes when that idiot snapped the hammer on a bare nipple of that Colt rovolving rifle! Doug Humbarger NRA Life member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club 72'73. Yankee Station Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

Very watchable, very different from the hunting porn they run here in the states.

Do you have the title to this video? Apparently it now reads "This video is private." when you click on the link. I was interested on any updates for the Kalahari bullet and my search lead me here.

Kenati, The new Norma Kalahari ammo has shot extremely well out of all my rifles. If you go to the Canadian Hunting section here and open my post "Another Epic Adventure in BC...", I took a mule deer and a mountain goat with Norma's 120 grain factory loaded Kalahari bullet in .270 Winchester. Here is a 3 shot group at 100 yards with my Blaser R8 in .270 Win with this ammo: Craig "Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars."

Impressive!! Thanks for sharing. I like to roll my own bulletos, but I do like to hear about good factory ammo offerings to recommend to friends.

It was posted in 2011 so may have dropped off the play list. It was on the English Field sports channel that I check out every week. The host is a bit of a plonker, but there is often something worth the watch. http://www.fieldsportschannel.tv/

Scott, The Norma Kalahari bullets actually appear far less aerodynamic than then CEB MTH bullets. And yes the MTH bullets shear at low velocities in a pattern similar to the CEB BBW#13 HP (now Safari Raptor) bullets. But it is both nice and interesting that a major European manufacturer is mimicking the bullet design and performance of a small USA manufacturer. Ron, I don't know when CEB started manufacturing monometal bullets, I've never asked Dan. I just know they were in the bullet manufacturing business before Michael and Sam developed the BBW#13 nose profile solid and HP bullets and collaborated with CEB to have them produced commercially. I didn't say that CEB did not perhaps copy an earlier bullet, or bullets. Heck the MTH bullets resemble the shape of the Sierra MatchKing bullets which have been around for a few decades. But the CEB MTH bullets are machine cut in solid copper in a Hybrid VLD or Hybrid UVLD shape rather than a C&C construction. What I said was:
And no I'm not slamming either the S&H or GSC bullets... I just don't own any .500 caliber bullets from either one 'cause they don't make them... I do have a few Lehigh copper SST design DG bullets in .500 caliber but don't reckon that I'll be purchasing replacements should I use them up... Anyway, its far past my roosting time so heading there now... Jim "Life's hard; it's harder if you're stupid" John Wayne
