I have a few rifles I want to get new wood for. Previously I went the route of Accurate Innovations AAA Claro and English walnut. Really good quality but they are heavy with that alum. block. Really didn't mind for RUM's.

But I was wondering what else is out there for mainly AAA English or possibly Turkish. I really do not know where to begin.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it matters, and it may, they would be for Stiller Precision (Rem 700 clones) actions in normal contours.

Biscut,

You could try http://www.gunstockwood.com/products.html I know that they carve stocks for the Mod. 70 so there is a good possibility they'll build one for a Rem 700 too. While these stocks may not be walnut, I find rock maple hard to resist. I should add too that I have only used the roughed out stocks that need to be finished. I don't know if they manufacture finished goods. Hope this helps.

Biscut, singleshotguy on these forums recently had some nice blanks for sale for reasonable prices. I bought one for $250.00 and it's better than most of the blanks I've seen for twice the price. I know he did not sell them all on these forums.
I also bought a 2 piece blank from Chic Worthing-customstox-- on these forums that would have cost 3 times what I paid for it elsewhere.

If you are in California you could try Great American Stock co. I have dealt with them a few times and have had good results but I do know that some people have had big problems. I thing a direct shop visit should eliminate all risk.
