.358 Win. offers nothing over the .35 Whelen.

Despite my earlier remark about the 30-40 Krag, in reality there are only 2 centerfire rifles that anyone actually needs. Everything else is just "wants"!

The 30-06 and the .375 H&H have, singlely and collectively killed every damn animal that roams this planet, and has been doing so for a Long Time.

If there ever was such a thing as a "Planet Perfect Battery" for the average hunter on Earth, and this is not including a handgun, a .22 LR, 30-06, .375 H&H and a 12gauge shotgun.

Thankfully we do not have to live with that system and can add variety to our lives.

Even the rocks don't last forever.

I guess if you are looking for energy and penetration the 340 or 338-378 Wby simply works. The "wannabe ultra mags" work as well.

The 300 H&H was the twin back in the cordite days.

Now, the 30-06 fits the bill.

Bob knocked one out of the park with his analysis.

My heart says 300 H&H. I do not have a head.
