I am contemplating having a 338 RCM built, Has anyone out there done any amount of shooting , load development.
What kind of results have been achieved. The only info I have been able to find is the Hodgdon sight. Any help appreciated.

E Fudd-I'm pretty darn sure what you'll be working with is bascially a 338/06 on a short action in terms of speed and stuff.

The 200 out of the RCM @ 2915 is horse apples...

I have a 338 WSM and I can't lean on it hard enough to get a 200 to 2900!

Well I guess the author or cronograph lied.

Factory ammo yes, but you'll have a hard time trying to get those numbers reloading. THEN, you'll be dealing with a short action 338-06. That is unless Hornady releases the magic pixie powders and tells us what kind of pressure they're pushing

If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

I've corresponded with an Australian shooter getting low 2600fps with 225gr for his reloads. Not bad from a 20" barrel. Base expansion is greater than the factory loads however.
Cheers...
