Congratulations! You have just built a rifle that will shoot as well as any custom built out to 600 yards and look the same. You can also add Bondo and build a Monte Carlo cheek piece. Sand it perfectly.

I had a stock savage stevens 300 win mag that shot pretty good. But it couldn't touch my tikka t3 in the same caliber. I paid about $300 for the stevens and about $600 for the tikaa. For the extra money I got: 1. a much lighter rifle that the stevens couldn't ever be. 2. A much nicer bolt throw and much smoother action. 3. Stainless steel. 4. A better stock. 5. A better trigger. 6. Clip feed. 7. Scope mounts that are free and easier to position in relation my eyes. In short...both guns were worth the selling price. To me the tikka was like spending $600 for a custom rifle that could have ran $2000. I do realize that the Savage has a ton of revamps available that the tikka won't but boy does my tikka shoot.

Kraky has a good point. Tikka is hard to beat. They make a rifle that is MOA guaranteed. I handled a Howa 1500 in 30-06 (I think they offer it in 300WinMag) in Stainless with a green Hogue stock that a friend owns. It has a lot of everything you want. Adjustable trigger, a little heavier, a good stock, and accurate. All for about $500. Without all of that messing around. Of course you need to add mounts (same as Rem 700) and a scope.
