They are both good choices. I have used a 300 wby in the past and it was a great killer. Recently I could not decide between a 300 Win and a 338 for my next rifle project. In the end I knew I will always hunt deer with my 264 and the larger caliber would be used for elk and heavier animals. So I sent the action to Hart with instructions for a 338 installation. If you going the one gun for all things, the 300 probably is better choice since you can shoot 165 gr bullets for deer, but with the choice of light bullets for the 338 available nowadays that may not real advantage. So do the logical thing and buy one of each. Saludos...Frank | |||
