Gentlemen

I bought brass from my 7mm wby in USA from Sinclair international. Great service

Norma also makes all weatherby brass and ammo. I have not been able to see any real difference but the headstamp

Cheers

I own a Remington 700 Classic that is chambered for the 7mm WBY MAG cartridge. It is a great rifle that I really enjoy.

This rifle has a 24 inch barrel and gives more velocity than any 7mm Rem Mag rifle I ever chronographed even with 26 inch barrels. I have no problem reaching 3200 fps with 160 grain bullets in this rifle using either RL 22 or IMR 7828.

Like you, I have no problem with freebored rifles. I just load the bullets out as far as the magazine will allow and go for it. This rifle shoots consistant 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards.

And, heck, the brass is not that bad, its not a varmint rifle. As of right now, I am using Remington brass in my rifle but I am certain that Remington has discontinued that brass. I also picked up several hundred Federal Premium nickle plated cases when Federal discontinued that stuff, have not even tried any of it yet. (It was cheap!) But once again, Weatherby brass is available for around $20 a box.

So, if you want the very last bit of velocity get the 26 inch barrel. However, I do not think it is needed in this cartridge. (As opposed to the 300 Wby Mag which I feel needs 26 inches to burn all that powder.)

Thanks jorge, I regard your posts as the words of a well informed shooter and will keep them in mind.

I just simply have not messed with that brass as of yet. I just could not pass it up for $12 a hundred pieces.

Thanks again, R F
