It should be worth six hundred or maybe six fifty. It just depends on how bad you want it.

More info, please.

Is it a pre-Garcia (three lug bolt), or is it a Garcia, Stoeger, or recent Beretta import? Is the action an L61R, AIII, AV, 995, L691, or M75?

Is it a standard or deluxe?

Is it all original (no cut stock, barrel, engraved initials of previous owner, etc.)

By open sights, do you mean equipped with the detachable Sako receiver peep, or with open sights on the barrel? If the latter, it is probably one of the lower-priced Model 72's that were offered as a price leader for a short time.

Does it include rings, and if so what kind?

If you can provide this info, you can get a more accurate opinion of a fair market price.

Finnbears were built on the following actions: L61R, AIII or the AV. Most were built on the L61R action. Later versions used the AIII and the AV for a very short period of time. The AIII and AV actions are identical except the the AV has a shorter tang. The AIII is a cross between the L61R and the AV.

The average price for a Sako Finnbear in 98% condition will run you about $600-$700; however, the extremes will run between $500-$900 for the standard grade. Keep an eye on GunsAmerica. It's easy to find a nice Sako 30-06 for about $600. To answer your question: $750 is definitely not out of line, but if you shop around you could save $100-$200. Sako, a lot of bang for the buck.
