| I assume that you're talking about the same rifle that was formerly imported to the U.S. as the Mark X Mauser, and is now being imported as Charles Daly (KBI).
I've owned the Mini-version of this rifle in .223, but not the full-sized version. The .223 was a passable rifle, perhaps just not as finely "polished" as some. The Zastava action is a fairly good copy of the FN Mauser, if fact, I believe that many parts will actually interchange. A lot of custom rifles were built on the old Mark X action, and as far as I know, people are fairly well satisfied with them. Can't tell you much about the barrels and expected accuracy on the factory rifle, but there are a lot of them floating around, so I suspect that someone can chime in with actual experience. |

| I've had three and still have one before Chas Daly and they are fine. I think the early Chas Dalys may have been rushed off the line (the import was banned for years during the Bosnia crisis and I think the plant lost a bunch of their experienced employees, now new ones are beginning to turn out better products). I plan on trying a Chas Daly, too. I just don't like the cross-bolt floorplate release.

| They've been made in Yugoslavia for decades; I assume back to the beginning of the '98 franchising by Mauser after WW I, maybe sooner. I don't know when they switched to the commercial FN style actions but I've seen Whitworths, Interarms since the early 70s when I first became aware of firearms. My bet is they go back to the 50s.

| I used the MKX barreled action for years. I built 3 270s all shot the same reload to about .75MOA. I did one last year using the Daly barreled action. Shot the same reload to .8MOA. I always had good luck with them. Heard some say the barrel was a little soft and would wear out. I have a 22-250 with 5000+ rounds through it and still groups submoa just like it did 30 years ago.
As usual just my $.02 Paul K
