I am looking for input on the 375 ruger cartridge. I am wondering if anyone has built one on a 'run of the mill' '06 length action??? Also, does anyone know where to find the case dimensions, specifically I am wondering if you can use a standard bolt face for the 375 Ruger case, or does it have to be opened up?? Any thoughts on the Ruger rifles for this cartridge??

Here's a drawing. The bolt face will have to be opened up if it's currently a standard face. If It Doesn't Feed, It's Junk.

I built a custom .416 Ruger on a VZ-24 action and the 416 is simply a .375 Ruger with the case neck opened to .416 It worked OK but the rails needed opening and the bolt face was opened to magnum which is a pretty common procedure for a Mauser action being converted to any of the magnums. A .30-06 bolt face will not work on the .375 Ruger but it's not at all difficult to do. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I built a .375 Ruger on a Win Model 70 bump feed action. It was originally chambered for 7mm Rem Mag and no action work was needed to get it to feed the Ruger cartridge. Here are a few pictures of my work in progress.

I also built a 416 Ruger (375 Ruger necked up to .416) on a Mauser 98 action..It has all the bells and whistles of an African rifle..It duplicates the balistics of the .416 Rem with less powder...I really like it so far. I can send you a picture if you send me your email address..I can't post on forums as yet, maybe never! Ray, which bottom metal did you use on your .416 Ruger? If It Doesn't Feed, It's Junk.
