Pecos, your problem is one of geography I think, probably not a lot of .35's out in your part of the world to start out with. They are common as dirt east of the Mississippi. I told a friend to get in touch about a spare Marlin in .35 Rem. so that might help. It is a shooter BTW, at least last time I saw it in action.

On another level, you might do well to go find the action of your preference in the used market, chambered for .308, and do a rebarrel job on it. I think in a perfect world the .358 is an ideal lever gun cartridge, but mine is a M77. Sorry I can't part with it though. First shot out of the box was on paper, next 3 in .85" @ 100 yards, all with factory Silvertips. It has since done better with handloads, recording the smallest group of 3 that I've fired, at .221" with 225 Ballistic Tips. BTW, I hold that bullet in very low esteem for the cartridge due to terminal performance, but it is the Queen of accuracy in my gun. 225 Nosler Partitions are a close second, Hornady 250's still in the 1.25" range. If all guns were so easy to feed...

If anyone's interested, I have a nice 35 Whelen built on a Venezuelan FN action that I'd be willing to part with. PM me if you're interested.
