Good show man! Do post pictures. The claw mounts may pose a problem as I believe the rings are made mount specific and can be pretty pricey to replace. However, they're great once they're complete! You'll love this rifle. Congrats! Jason "Chance favors the prepared mind."

A great cart. choice. If I didn't have a .280, I would own a 7x64. Unfortunately, you'll probably have to have custom rings made. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

Outstanding cartridge. It makes the most out of a standard 98 and a 7mm bullet. I've owned two of them, a Walter Roll Oberndorf 98 and a Brno 22f. There are sever folks here in the US that can fit claw rings for you, Mark at NECG is very good. Expect to pay about $500-600, no matter who does the work.

Been carrying a pair of 7x64s around for years, accurate as hell, but I only carried them as back ups for other rifles. Finally used one of them, a Steyr, in Africa. Bingo, perfect performance, and the best thing about them is that I discovered a factory load that both rifles like, inexpensive S&B 173 grain bullets! You never can tell. LLS

LLS My Golden Eagle didn't care for the S&B 270's but maybe I'll have better luck with the 7x64. Thanks Rich
