The above from another thread ..... Shot the "New" (read=Used) Magna-Ported 9.3x62 Blaser R93 barrel that I Scrubbed the tube, which appeared to be in outstanding condition and put the first 12 rounds down-range to sight-in after mounting the 1.5-4.5x26 Red Dot off the .375H&H barrel and trotted-off (read=drove fast) to the range. First shot at 50 meters was 3" low and 1/2" right. Four 1/4" clicks left & 12 clicks up put the second shot right through the Bulleye; So Far - so Good. 5 Speer 270 grainers w/55.6 grs. of VV N-140, Norma brass & a WLR Winchester cap put the 5 in one ragged clover leaf dead middle of the X-ring. 5 of my remaining precious few 250 gr. Nosler BT's with the same load plus a firm crimp w/Lee Factory Crimp Die did exactly the same right on top of the previous 5 shots (pastied) hole. I'm pleased - ready for Drive Hunting season already! Cheers, Number 10

Are you a happy camper Gerry? That's my next project, hope I get as good, I mean lucky, results as you Waidmannsheil, Dom. -------- There are those who only reload so they can shoot, and then there are those who only shoot so they can reload. I belong to the first group. Dom ---------

wildboar - Huh? It's standard-length 57.5cm Blaser bbl. and had my hearing protection on at the range. For Drive Hunting I use the Peltor Sport Tacs anyway. It certainly didn't appear to be more so than my already short 20" 9.3x63. Dom, Yup, just color me H-C! Hope you get a Good Deal, too! Cheers, Number 10

Good on you Gerry. It is always a treat when a plan comes together! When I first started shooting the 9.3x62, I was amazed what an accurate caliber it was - something I had not expected at all in that end of the caliber spectrum. My local smith let me try out 2 Blaser barrels - a normal and a "semi weight" contour. Both shot well. I ended up buying the semi weight, due to the differences in recoil. With the semi weight, it seemed recoil was much more a straight "fore-aft" movement, with a much less pronounced barrel rise. It sure is easy to verify your sight-in with an accurate barrel/load. - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... Mike, When I had the first 9.3x62 made up the results were exactly the same. Now that you mention it I don't think I've ever gotten what I would call a bad group out of the loads I've tried - most right @ 1" and some (the keepers) < than that. Thanks, Pal - Stu's coming over tomorrow evening for Beers & Football. Cheers, Number 10

Last night, I re-scoped my Sauer 202 Outback in 9.3x62 with a "new to me" Swarovski PH-I 1.25-4 and sighted it in this afternoon. For serious hunting, I use a 250 gr Accubond load that is a proven "one holer", but for plinking and hog hunting, I use a load with 285 gr PRVI bullets. At 50 yards off sand bags and portable shooting bench, I shot 4 shots into one ragged hole, and I am now ready to go hunt a pig this evening.

Yo Jeff ..... I'm gonna report you to the Vice Squad ..... you're obviously living way too High-on-the-Hog down there in Texas ..... Sauer, Blaser and now Swarovski, too I think you're playing both sides of the fence on us - IIRC you're sending Blaser & Sauer 9.3x62 reports? Did you get another 9.3 Thumper? O.K. - where's the Happy Snaps of last night's 9.3x62 Sauer/Swarovski success? I don't have any blood on mine yet. I gotta try some of the Privi-Partisan, too. Their factory ammo is going for some seriously ridiculous prices at the moment over here.
I still owe my Buddy Dom (above) a half a can of Varget anyway I guess I'll just have to "borrow" the remainder of the can and try the Accubond load, too. Cheers, Number 10

Wow, thanks for the reminder Gerry, that CRS is serious stuff Not so fast . . . I'll take that 1/2 can, 'cause I'm going to start my 9.3 project as soon as Frankonia gets off their axx -------- There are those who only reload so they can shoot, and then there are those who only shoot so they can reload. Gerry, is that the 9.3 barrel I am borrowing this November??? Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

Gerry Don't get too excited, the Sauer is a "parts" gun, but that is the beauty of Blasers and Sauers. As for the Swarovski, I found it on Ebay and would not have bought it if it weren't a DEAL . I intended to get some pictures posted, but my batteries were dead in my camera. I went out yesterday evening in search of a piggie but got skunked, so I don't have any blood on mine either. It is so hot and dry here that the hogs are pretty much staying in the creek bed, but you still have to figure out which mud hole they will be at. I have only shot my Sauer 9.3 at 50 yards, but it really seems to like the 285 gr PRVI load. My R-93 Tracker 9.3 prefers the 250 gr Accubonds but will shoot the PRVI good enough to kill any hog in the woods. My original intention for the Sauer 9.3 barrel was to have it cut down and Recknagel sights installed like my R-93 barrel and make a "Tracker" out of it, but it shoots so good that I am considering leaving it as is.
