I think I told my wife that the last two would make mine complete. This time its a 45-70 that will do the trick.

At last count I am reloading for thirty two different chamberings from .17 caliber to .45 caliber. I have three more projects in mind, which I plan to have ready by next deer season. I don't think I'll stop there. You CAN HAVE MORE THAN YOU NEED, BUT NEVER TO MANY.

I'm a proponent of shooting one or two rifles very well, instead of many, not so well. But, I broke with that this past year and bought three new rifles I bought a Cooper 22-250 but decided it weighed too much for a walking varminter, so I bought a Kimber Montana in .243. Niiice, just what I had in mind, but, you know, a .243 is not quiet. I guess I need a 17HMR for shooting around the "neighborhood. A New Ultra Light Arms please, as soon as they are available. OOOOh, those limited edition Kimbers with the French Walnut stocks are sure beautiful, so I bought one last week. Wheeee! Some day I plan to hunt sheep. Actually I am contemplating moving to Alaska in two years when my youngest graduates. Lots of sheep there. To get ready I need an ultra light .284. THEN, I'm sure I'll have everything I need... except, isn't it said that the .375 is just the thing for big hairy critters that might like to eat you? Ya, I think I've heard that. Hey, I've never had a gun that big! Oh, this is fun!

Our father told us, "A 30-06, a 12 gauge, and a 22 are all you ever need."

We sons did not listen and now own hundreds of guns.

When the old man dies, we are going to divy up his three guns.

Never !!

My current projects in the works are my 1909 mauser .404 J and my 50-110 on an 1886 (this will be a longtime coming).

I also want a long range .338 Lapua and a second .416 Rigby as well as a 6.5x55 cz 550 and a heavy barrelled .308.

I will aslo need one of the .505 gibbs cz rifles as well.....I think you get the picture about my state of mind.

I have calmed down a lot since last year. I bought many rifles and shotguns in one or two years getting what I wanted. When I picked up my 45-70 I had all my "must have" guns, now I'll work on the wanna have guns. I still want:

338-06 on a mauser - got the action now
45-120 or 50-90 on a Sharps
45-70 double rifle
257 roberts on a Ruger tang saftey
And the list goes on!

one of my biggest problems is that I want at least one kill for each rifle, but there aren't enough tags to do that quickly in my neck of the woods.
