Sportsmans Warehouse has just opened the first of what is supposed to be a bunch of stores in the DFW area. They are stocking some Fed Prem 130 gr Grand Slams at close to Rem'Chester PSP's Wally World prices. I've never used these and was curious if anyone had any experience with this round for WT's and Hogs?

I haven't used this bullet in the .270 but it sure is a good one out of my 30-06 in 180 grain.

At $14.50 a box I think I'll try some no matter what. Same price for both 130's and 150's. The Tikka shoots FedPrem 130 Nosler BT's under an inch all day but the lil' piggies we are seeing sign for have gotten a bit larger this year. So the GrandSlams rep for penetration may get tested. Thanks

They shoot awesome in my JC Higgins FN 98, but I haven't put one in an animal yet. I'll likely use them for Deer next season.

Where in DFW is the new store opening? I live a bit south of Fort Worth.

I've shot that very bullet into almost countless hogs in the late 80s early 90s and they performed flawlessly.

I've never shot the grandslam out of a factory load but I have handloaded them for years in the 130 gr weight for the 270. They are one of my favorites for the 270. I think you'll be pleased with them.

Sportsmans Warehouse first DFW area atore is located just off I35E and one exit north of Hwy 121. If I were coming from Alvarado I'd use Hwy 67 to Stemmons North to the Hwy 121 exit which is the first exit just north of Carollton. There is an exit now north of 121 but it is easy to miss and only saves you about 1/2 mile. Stay on the northbound service road and turn right just before you go under the bridge where Hebron Rd cross's onto a 1 block long side street called Roberts, then turn right , or east on Hebron Rd and look for the Super Target on the left side at the next light 1 block east. Sportsmans Warehouse is next to the Target Store on the back line of the strip center.
If you are coming from the DFW Airport or the Bass Pro Shops area you can use either those directions, or take 121 Business into Lewisville and turn right, or East on Round Grove Rd, Hwy 3040, that takes you by Vista Ridge Mall and across the I35 bridge and then down to the next light where the Target store is. Best selection of reloading supplies I've seen in the Dallas area.
