I will develop a new close range "wild-pig load" to my double rifle, and I wonder if someone has experiences of Woodleigh 215gr in 303 British. Have only found one single 215grains recipe on reloadersnest.com and I'd like to catch some more reloading knowledge of this bullet before I start the development. It would be great if it is possible to reach Vo of appx 700m/s. Anyone? Martin

I don't have any personal experience with this combination but do have a little data for you. "Modern Reloading" lists the following recipes for the 215 gr. .303: H414 38.6 to 43 grs. = 2114 fps max H4350 38.6 to 43 grs. = 2090 fps H335 35 to 39 grs. = 2047 fps H4831 40.4 to 45 grs. = 2001 fps If you have access to Nobel powders... Nobel Rifle #3 33.3 to 37 grs. = 2250 fps Nobel Rifle #2 34.2 to 38 grs. = 2230 fps Nobel Rifle #1 36 to 40 grs. = 2200 fps

Gentlemen, The Woodleigh 215 gr. .303 British bullet is a fantastic projectile. I've used it extensively on quite a lot of game, and it penetrates all day long. From a 25.25" original barrel on a No.4 Mk.2 Enfield, I've achieved velocities of 2215-2225 fps with the 43.0 gr. H414 load. That same load gives me about 2040 fps in a 21" barrel Enfield sporter. Good luck, I think you'll like this bullet
