Looking to bid on a NULA 24. Never having handled one I was wondering if anyone can tell me about their handling? Specificaly if they are whippy or muzzlelight?

NULAs are well balanced rifles. Mel builds them to be balanced & accurate. I had a NULA in 270 with a 24", #2 contour barrel, and it was not muzzle light nor "whippy". I also had a 308 NULA with a #1 contour that was balanced, but overall weight made it harder to settle into the bags for sighting in.

NULAs are fine rifles and I suspect you would be well served with one if you're looking for a light weight gun. I have owned four.

I like Mels rifles save one thing, the bolt/bolt handle design is such the if you hold the bolt with your thumb and index finger as I do when you cycle the bolt, your thumb will hit the ocular bell on your scope. This won't work for me, Mel said it is as it is, so he got the one NULA I owned back, unfired.

I still think the rifles are well made, I like the stock design, and the ones I have shot and seen shot by decent shooters, shot well. As jimroo stated, balnce was very good on the NULA's I've fondled and shot.
