Having a problem with my new cooper 270 win in model52 with clip .It has a tendency to partially drop out from recoil when shooting at which time it will not ramp next shell or bind others. When it ejects first shell second with not load even upon pushing clip back in position.I'll need to contact Cooper as they have always stood behind any issues but wish to know if anyone else has experienced any similar problems with this clip design?

drifter, I have experienced this. One of my buds repeatedly had this problem with my rifle, but I did not--we were taking turns shhoting it last weekend during some load development, barrel break in shooting. What we determined was the he was not getting the magazine fully seated when installing it into the rifle.
On my rifle, the fit of the magazine into the mag well is very tight, and due to the taper must be very 'square' in the well when seating it. I really like my Cooper, but everyone--including Cooper--should copy the Sako mag design.

Try being really exacting about inserting the mag, and see what happens.

Let us know what you come up with.

Good Luck--Don

Don-Thanks for info. What I found is case tightness is determined I believe,by forward adjustment of the back spring against indentation on the back side of the clip.Found by increasing tension very tight it would work for X number of shots and then tension would gradually decrease until it malfunctioned.Lost a really nice buck last week for lack of a second shot to put back down. Before I jump the gun(pun intended) will contact Cooper for assist.

Jim-was surprised you took it upon yourself to call on my behalf however I had placed a call yesterday immeadiate after post for assist.Problem was directly addressed in the fine manor Cooper has always done in the past.I found out this clip problem has only been an issure in a couple other instances and was corrected by installation of a stiffer spring. My original post was to conduct a survey among other model 52 owners. As usual they said send in and we will make it right.

drifter, thanks for the follow up. I will be keeping a close eye on my 52. I have had a spare magazine that is supposed to be shipped to me for a long time now, and it still hasn't showed. I wonder if my partner was just shooting the clip at the time the spring tension was getting weak and I was not......

Thanks again--Don

Fish- More than welcome.I would think if clip has not acted up since it may of just been a fluke? However if a problem should occur Im sure you'll receive the same prompt service I did. Best of luck.
