Vaughn; that Z6 IS the cat's meow as is the Zeiss equivalent. The only complaint (and obviously nullified by the ill reticle) is the German #4 reticle center is TOO THIN on the Swaro. Also and I kid you not, take a look at the Meopta in the same setup at half the price. SUPERB scope and exactly the same glass and guts. I've had both here along with a Victory for over a week comparing in low light at my version of an "eye chart" at 75 yards, and there is NO difference that I can see between the three. jorge USN (ret) DRSS Verney-Carron 450NE Cogswell & Harrison 375 Fl NE Sabatti Big Five 375 FL Magnum NE DSC Life Member NRA Life Member

On my Whitworth 375 H&H I have Leupold QD mounts. My main scope on this rifle is the Leupold VX 3 2.5x8 with a Leupold VX 3 1.5x5 as a backup. On my 375 Weatherby, I have the new Nikon Monarch 3 2x8. Hook em Horns

I've got the Zeiss Victory 2.5-10x50 illum on mine. Wouldn't want anything less. To me the 1.5-6x42 that's on the 416 Barrel makes it less of an allrounder. If I were to buy a scope today I'd look at the Z6i 1.7-10x42 or the Leica 1.5-10x42 or again the 2.5-10x42/50 from Zeiss. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the Nikon Monarch, especially the lightweight 2-8x32. For timber hunting there is a 1-4 with German #4 reticle. Nikons are probably more rugged than Leupold e.g., viii 2.5-8, and the glass may be better. The eye-relief is better on the Nikon 2-8, with 4" at the high magnification, not just the low magnification. I've used the 2-8 on full capacity 416Rigbys and 338WM's. For the 500 AR Nyati I'm using a Nikon Slughunter 1.5-5, though it needed special rings because of the 4.75" mounting area limitation. A 375H&H will need the slightly longer Nikon Monarch Compact 2-8. +-+-+-+-+-+-+ "A well-rounded hunting battery might include: 500 AccRel Nyati, 416 Rigby or 416 Ruger, 375Ruger or 338WM, 308 or 270, 243, 223" -- Conserving creation, hunting the harvest.

I've had a Leupold 1-4x20 VX-II on my .375 for absolutely EVER, on Leupold low mounts. For what I use my .375 for, it's perfect. I keep it set on 2.5, unless I'm on the range or culling from a vehicle. Shots are very seldom beyond 100m, mostly much closer.
