Last year I took a buck out of some very thick cover with my MarkX in .270Win. He was running a doe and just wouldn't be still so I could shoot him. I decided the only way I was gonna get this deer was to snap shoot him when he ran in between the brush. Well, I took him, but it took 3 shots to bring him down (only 1 shot hit the vitals). When I got back to camp everybody asked me who in the hell was shooting that automatic near me With a little practice you can work a bolt gun as fast as any, The secret is to learn to leave it on your shoulder when you cycle the action. A lot of folks want to bring the rifle down to thier waist to put another round in the chamber just like they do before they go into the woods. Terry | |||
