I see Ruger making a run of .30-06 rifles unadvertized with the barrel stamped "made in the 100th anniversary of the greatest cartridge ever"

They did this in 1976 with their 200th anniversary guns....sadly there was no collectors value to them.

Any guesses as to what the gunmakers have planned as a surprise bithday for the king of cartridges?

Has Remington said anything about the 2006 CDL? I am planning a 30-06project that should be finished next year. Thought about putting something about the anniversary on it.

The Remington classic is kaput...done...ended...no more.

They made that announcement last year.

2005 is the 100th anniversary of the 9.3x62mm. That's what I'll be celebrating.

That was fantastic timing on it too. Roll Eyes I suppose if it lived on they would have chambered it in something else for 2006, like a short mag! nut

I truly don't believe the executives at Remington are gun folks.....I doubt they go hunting or care what the customer thinks or wants.

For them to bring out the 416 mag and essentially not bring out a gun to shoot it is a joke.

I'm at a loss to underrstand them at all.

Well now everyone knows how much I pay attention to the Big Green. Red Face Had THEY been paying attention they would have ended it in 2006 with a 30-06.

I agree that Remington should of made the '06 the classic for '06. I hoped and expected them to. But they chose poorly!

I am going to buy a Winchester Super Grade in 30-06 and enjoy the hell out of it!

Remington just needs to stick to racing... it's impossible to screw up by making something too tacky in Nascar.

I recognize that as a Fajen Aristocrat.....and the fiddleback maple is very tastefully done. I'd be proud of it if it was mine.

Obviously it wasn't done by anyone at Remington.

This is a shot show limited edition gun. It's call a Fajen special edition. I bought it new and have only fired it 12 times for break in. It's back in the box now without the scope on it. I thought it was too purdy to mess up the stock hunting with it.

RazzerTo solve what is obviously a problem,May I suggest you get a plastic stock( new or used )for the rifle, exchange it , and put that too pretty to hunt with stock back in the box and under the bed.Now take the rifle and use it for what it was born to do. eek2roger

The rifle is in 300 win mag. I took the more exspensive route and built another in that caliber to shoot. Problem solved now back under the bed Big Grin
