Only "available" source is now loaded ammo. But it too is scarce.

I keep 200 (RWS) pieces for my 9.3x64 and lost my first case this past w/e shooting fallow deer. It is annoying, not so much the availability or expense aspect, but the fact that you keep getting some bullets without a home after a reloading session.

You will find a home for those projectiles, sooner or later... Big Grin

Thats the main reason I sold my Blaser R93 9.3x64 barrel. I just could not find ammo. I always thought it was a hell of a round. I hope they make alot of the RWS, great brass-- there TUG, and TIG bullets are pretty good too.

I'm glad I picked up 200 rounds of RWS brass for my 9.3x64 when it was available from Huntingtons.

I also just picked up 10 boxes of RWS 293 grain TUG factory loads at a really fair price.

If any 9.3x64 shooters out there need some of these factory loaded cartridges, I'd be happy to pass on a good deal and get rid of about 5 boxes of them.

Chopperguy,
Sent you a PM, interested in the factory ammo you have. One of my Brenneke's really likes that load.

I don't know why you guys think ammo is scarce; last night with a few minutes search of the internet I found two sources of Privi Partisan 285-gr ammo for around $22-23 per 20. I went with Graf & Sons of GA because they cover shipping, while the other company wanted $11 to ship (not interested in paying 50% of my order just to get it!!

If you are interested in RWS or even some American ammo makers products they are out there, for a price. They are a little more spendy at $40+ up to some I saw for near $100.

Myself, I intend to keep buying this Privi ammo and reload. Other forums report their brass is second to none in this caliber.

Let us know how this 9.3X62 ammo shoots in a 9.3X64 rifle.

Several years ago there was an article in Shotgun News about the Russian Draganov. I was very interested to read they were intending to bring one out chambered in 9.3x64. It wouldn't be any fun at all trying to find scarce brass thrown all over the place, but I thought visiting American bear hunters would be comforted being backed up with one of those instead of an SKS.

Heck it won't be any problem for me, as I don't own a Brenneke rifle!

I guess I got carried away witht eh joy of reading about my favorite new cartridge (anything 9.3 that is) that I forgot it was originally about the X 64. Consider it a noob mistake and try not to flay me too much.

For what its worth, the 400 grain North Fork at 2750 fps stood up to point blank buffalo, so a 450 grain at 2,700 fps should be fine.

a 450 grain bullet at 2700 FPS would have an energy of over 7000 ft/lb. I can just imagine whast the recoil would be like....
