I guess the any opinions is pretty redundant! Always enough opinions around gun cranks.

I was looking at their proffesional hunter in 338 win with the 26in barrel. Does anyone here have expirence with their rifles/customer service?

Looking for an accurate "custom" rifle in this caliber, I have a win m70 pf I was going to trade in on a crf and have built by a g-smith but hs is compariable on price.

Will probably be topped off with a leupy

I don't have any personal experience with them but a guy I was in camp with a couple of years ago had an HS Takedown and it was a sweet looking and darn convienant gun but it was HEAVY...

If weight is a consideration to you (like it is to me) inquire.

By the way.. this guy was very happy with the performance and accuracy.

I guess I should make it clear- HS precision rifles. I could definatly see where a take-down rifle would be heavier. I believe they quote the regular rifle at 7-8 lbs no to bad I think I would end up with a 10lb rifle scope, rings, ammo, sling. A little weight in 338 mag would be welcome.

I have one in 300 win mag I bought 4 years ago.
Their service was great. I sent it back once to be looked at but the problem turned out to be pilot error.
They checked it out, called me to talk about the problem, we figured it out and they had it back to me in about two weeks.
Mine shoots 165 Nosler Partitions into one hole at 100 yards.
I bought it with a removable muzzle break and a mercury recoil suppressor in the stock.
The recoil suppressor works so well I took the muzzle break off and have never put it back on.
The trigger is excellent.
My only negative comment is the bolt needs to be kept clean or it can get sticky.

I do not hesitate to recommend their rifle and their service.

I have two and they are amazing shooters, great triggers and not picky as to bullets, lots of one holers, and I know the flyers are my doing. Mine are 2000LA and as a machinery lover they are a joy and pleasure to cycle the action. I can see that if you let them get grit in them they could bind as they are tight actions, lift the bolt handle and raise the muzzle and the bolt glides open as smooth as silk.

Navrunner1: While I personally don't own any of their rifles, a friend of mine has 2 (if I'm not mistaken). Both of them being the "Varmint" model. One of them is a .220 Swift. He says they're both tack drivers. He's said the company is great to deal with, delivery time is reasonable and they even send the test target with the load they used. I've been kicking around having them do a .22-250 for me but we don't have too many prairie dogs here in Ak. Snow snakes? That's another story. [Wink] Bear in Fairbanks

Navrunner,

I buy one of their takedown rifles each year for our SCI Chapter's fund raiser. Their customer service has been excellent, and the people who have bought the rifles have been very happy with them. So far the calibers have been .300 Win Mag, .300 WSM and .375 H&H.

I have another rifle on order now.
