I put a 2.5x8 Leupold on my daughter's 9.3x62 because I had one in the safe. Don't underestimate the 9.3x62 at longer ranges, as it is certainly up to 300 yard shots on game as big as elk. If I were buying a scope for a 9.3x62 it would be something in the 1.5x6 to 2.5x8 range.

My 9.3 x 74 R wears a 1.5 - 6 x 42 Swarovski Illuminated. It works well.

In all honesty though, I'm in the middle of selling my house and haven't had time to shoot the rifle since it's completion. I've finally gotten all this madness behind me and I plan on giving the rifle a good work out this coming weekend. Gun season opens in 3 weeks and I really wanted to use it for opening day.

That is a really beautiful rifle. I only see one fault as the bolt is on the wrong side. I put a 1.25x4 x30mm Leupold on my 376 Steyr as the 2x7 was out of stock. I wish I had waited as the FOV is too much as I see a lot of the barrel and front site with the 74' FOV and short scope (9.40"). I am going to switch to a S&B 1.5 x6 x 42 that I have on a 308Win. Later I may switch to the 2x7 30mm Leupold to save some weight and increase the eye relief. One of the new Zeiss might be the cats meow as both are listed with 4" of eye relief and both are fairly long so you have some adjustment to move the scope. Again you have a beautiful rifle. Tell us how you like it after you hunt with it.

It's crystal clear, fits the gun well and is enough magnification for the cartridge. These are damn good European scopes for the money.

I hope you will explain what you mean about the FOV of the Sightron as it should be much greater at lower power settings than any 4x32 with about the same eye relief.

Looking through the Sightron is like looking through an empty toilet paper roll. Obviously on low power, the field is wider than at higher power but it's still like looking through a pipe. Other power range Sightrons I've examined don't have the same affliction. I have 1.5-6x32's by Bausch & Lomb and Burris and they are fine, good full FOV but the Sightron is another story. Comparing the 3 scopes side by side, there's no comparison. Perhaps, "FOV" is not the proper term for what I'm trying to describe but as I say, it's like looking through a tube. Otherwise, it's a clear, quality scope. I stuck it on an Encore.
