The Whelen worked this morning, on a PA buck! It is a wide 7 point, I'll get pics later. Shot was at very first light, 175 yards with a Hornady 200 spire point. Deer was sharply quartering away, I only hit one lung. I heard the impact of the bullet, but I couldn't find blood for quite a while. When the deer started bleeding, it was a big trail, and I easily found it then. My wife and I dragged the deer about 100 yards up a steep hill to a fence, where my daughter's pony took over. We've had horses for 5 years, and this is the third useful thing they have ever done! I need to get picks later to show off. Thanks to God! Jason | ||

I skinned the deer, and I did not find the bullet, didn't look too hard either. I did not find any hole in the rib cage. The deer was sharply quartering away, and I hit it between the right shoulder and the ribs. blood shot from behind the shoulder to the under side of the neck. I assumed I hit a lung because he was exhaling blood from the nose, but I must have hit trachea, with bullet or bone fragments. I think I got lucky this morning. Jason | |||

Hey bja105, That is my normal carry Bullet for my 350RemMag. I prefer to use the Carolina Heart Shot(Shoulder-to-Shoulder) when using that Bullet since it has ALWAYS Exited for me. The RN version is right nice too. How in the world did you ever get a wife like that? AMAZING!!! | |||
