I've always thought this would be a set up but never tried. Has anyone shot or hunted with this load?

-Everybody has a dream hunt, mine just happens to be for a Moose.-

-The 30-06 is like a perfect steak next to a campfire, a .300 Win Mag is the same but with mushrooms and a baked potato-

I ran that exact bullet in my 300Win Mag some years back, over a heathly dose of RL22.
I was able to get 3000fps out the rifle, and harvested 4 head of deer and a couple of cow moose with the load.
I had no complaints as i recovered no bullets, and all the critters expired in an acceptable fashion.
Unfortunatly I sold that rifle, but Overall I was very happy with the 190's.

I saw a carribou shot by one a couple of years back. It had a quite a bit of bloodshot meat.
The 190 isn't a bad bullet and I'm sure with proper placement can kill anything. I've always viewed the hornady bullet line as the best there is for a "non premium" bullet.
For big game I would prefer a premium.....tsx, accubond, partition, whatever shoots best in your gun. Go to noslers proshop and check the prices on blem bullets.....it makes them pretty darn reasonable. Also, Midway is running some good specials from time to time on the discontinued partition golds. Just my humble opinion.

I've never tried them....just too close to the 180 grain.....why they didn't make a 200 grain bullet is beyond my thinking.....

But it's their business!!!!!

Because everyone else makes a 200 grain bullet...and the 190 is a match bullet usually...so the same weight would hit the market that used the same weight for hunting...

I agree, just do a 180...

But the 190 is good for opening up at lower velocities.. it is too soft for magnum uses in my experiences...

It makes a dandy bullet for my 30/40 Krag tho...

If this is the 190 grs BT, then I saw a guy shooting this bullet in Africa out of a .300 Win Mag. Everything went well, until a close-up shot was presented on a Kudu. The bullet blew up on the outside of the animal, creating a nasty, superficial wound. In the end, he got his kudu, but there were some anxious hours before he finally managed to end the suffering of the animal. This combination would not be for me.
