I was going to experiment with a 175 grain Hornady Interlock load in my 7x57 Mauser as a very generous member here sent me some bullets and a recipe. I have 15 of his donor bullets to play with. In my component locker I found 25 Norma 7mm 175 grain bullets but discovered that they were .283 inches, unlike the .284 of the Hornadys. My notion was that if I found a good accurate load with the Hornadys then I could fire a small group with some loads using the Norma bullets to sigh tin and go hunting with them, because they were virtually identical to look at. But they are not identical. If the Interlocks work I guess I'll have to spend the $50 to get a full box.

Hublocker Where do you live that Hornady bullets cost $.50 each? During my last 35 years of gun show attendance I found the Hornady 7mm 175grn and the 154 RN were some of the least poplar bullets and often very low priced.

I had very good accuracy with the 175 Horn IL's in my Ruger #1 over a load of Ramshot Hunter and managed to get around 2550fps with it. Accuracy was in the 3/4" range IIRC. Regards, Robert ****************************** H4350! It stays crunchy in milk longer!

Excellent choice! Shoot very well in my CZ 550 LUX and penetrate very well. Try keeping velocities around the 2300fps - 2400fps.

lal, I will check but I think that the 4 shots are in about a 1 1/2 " group. Here is another target with 160's: Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. The 175 round nose non premium bullet was the 7x57 elk medicine of choice for the native Western Montana hunters that bought surplus Mausers when I first got there in the late 60s. They opened up and penetrated like hell. Regards, Chuck "There's a saying in prize fighting, everyone's got a plan until they get hit" Michael Douglas "The Ghost And The Darkness"
