I've been offered an old rifle that looks like new, it's a steyr-mannlincher 9,3x62 and the stock is very strange, if you push a little bottom the cheek piece goes up. The rifle is original and was made in 1910 or something like that. Thanks for any reccomendation I think I will buy it !! LG | ||

That is a very rare and desirable rifle and should bring a premium price of up to $4000. and perhaps more. However, it is a very over engineered design, typical of the Germans then and now. It was terribly flawed in design of that stock and not at all practical, as they tend to pop up with recoil... ------------------ | |||

The earliest that rifle could have been made was 1924, on the High Velocity action. Prior to that the actions were not long enough to accomodate the 9.3x62 cartridge. If you have pictures or can describe the markings, I could be more specific. ------------------ | |||
