JCN: I have one. THe 7Rem Mag is basically the same, although you can get a few more fps out of the Weatherby. Mine is in a special order MKV with a heavier contour barrel and it shoots very well. For relaoding, I use the recipes out of the old "Weatherby Guide," using Norma MRP. With Hornady 139gr handloads, it shoots fast and flat. Taken many deer with it and for hogs I prefer the 140 NP. For really serious work though, I go with the 160gr Partition. I prer 24" tubes for most, but for this caliber, definetly go with 26". jorge

I have one "under construction" and opted for a 26 inches barrel. 26 inches gives the rifle better balance and tad more velocity. I have been hunting with one for a few seasons and been very pleased with it.

I had a 7mm rem and it's a nice cartridge but then neck is too short in my opinion for 150 or 160 grain bullets, particular premium bullets.

Cheers

RFlowers: A word of caution about that Federal brass. I bought some as well, but when i tried to use them with my standard loads, they didn't come close to the capacity of Norma brass. I'm too lazy to start messing with new loads, so there they sit on my shelf. jorge
